SO ... WHAT MAKES GLW SO DIFFERENT?
GLW Books fill in all the missing details that our competitor's don't have time to research or space to print. Everyone loved our Lake Erie and Lake Huron sequential approach and all the detail. Countless people told us that, while the books were wonderful, they really could use "reference" maps and phone numbers. Thus, the Lake Michigan book was created, complete with maps and phone numbers. We are working on the 3rd Edition of the Lake Erie book which will also include these features.
GLW Books offer navigation and cruising facts for cruiser and trailer boaters --- with a smattering of fishing spots and wrecks to make them seem knowledgeable to their guests. They are truly "the nautical address books." The lat/long coordinates serve as a street address when traveling in an unfamiliar big-city harbor or on a river with many marinas and no signs. All good address books, have phone numbers.
GLW Books have an easy-to-use sequential layout, accurate latitude & longitude coordinates, handy reference maps and the phone numbers of each marine facility.
GLW Books are perfect for trip planning including chart ordering. Marinas or launch ramps can be called from your armchair!
GLW Books are, of course, essential once on the big trip. Planning changes due to weather, eating at a restaurant with a dock, or whatever, are super easy. When the large well-known marinas listed in other publications are filled, a cell phone call to the smaller, lesser-known one will always get you a dock for the night. In fact, a cell phone call (when out of VHF radio range), may get a last minute dock opening at the major marina of choice. The bridge clearances and drawbridge opening times make it easy to decide how far up-river one wants to go.
