This book presents over 2,100 waypoints (latitude and longitude coordinates) in the Lake Erie & Lake St. Clair area. The book is divided into the following five sections:

  • Lake Erie (excluding the Lake Erie Islands): Starts in the east at Port Colborne, Ontario (Welland Canal) and follows the shoreline in a clockwise direction back to Port Colborne. It sequentially wraps around the lake's many bays and harbors and goes to the end of every navigable river. It covers the entire Upper Niagara River.
  • Lake Erie Islands: This section separates the islands of Lake Erie from the sequential shoreline presentation of Lake Erie. It presents the islands alphabetically, with waypoints wrapping sequentially around the larger islands.
  • Detroit River: Starts at Lake Erie and ascends the river to Lake St. Clair. It offers the mariner three routes to either quickly or leisurely get to Lake St. Clair.
    • Direct Route -- No Marinas: Uses the Livingstone and Fighting Island Channels and passes south of Belle Isle and north of Peche Island.
    • Michigan Route & U.S. Marinas: Uses the Livingstone, Wyandotte and Ecorse Channels and passes north of Belle Isle and Peche Island.
    • Ontario Route & Canadian Marinas: Uses the Amherstburg Channel and passes east of Fighting Island and later south of Peche Island.
  • Lake St. Clair: Enables the mariner to cut directly across the lake to the St. Clair River or follow the shoreline in a clockwise manner from and back to the Detroit River. It offers two pleasant river trips. The Clinton River to Mt. Clemens, Michigan and the Thames River to Chatham, Ontario.
  • St. Clair River: This section offers the mariner two routes to Lake Huron and covers all the subordinate channels of the St. Clair river.
    • Direct Route -- No Marinas: Starts at the Cutoff Canal, joins the South Channel and then the main river at Algonac and Port Lambton.
    • Detailed Route -- With Marinas: Starts at the Flats Canal, follows the entire South Channel and then the main river. Ascends three rivers and links to nine other channels of the St. Clair river --- with a trip up the Sydenham River.
